Mirwaiz, Yasin Malik hail Guru’s sacrifice

ISLAMABAD, Feb 10 (APP): All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman,
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chief, Muhammad Yasin Malik, have termed the sacrifice of Kashmiri martyr, Muhammad Afzal Guru, as a milestone in the resistance history of Jammu and Kashmir.
The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the
Hurriyet chairman talked to Guru’s family members over telephone from New Delhi and expressed solidarity with them, KMS reported.
The JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik in his statement from jail
said, “Guru’s sacrifice is an indelible chapter of Kashmir history. Kashmiris will not forget the Indian state’s tyrannical attitude towards martyr Muhammad Afzal Guru.”
The JKLF also organised a condolence meeting at Martyrs’ Graveyard in
Eidgah, Srinagar, to pay tributes to Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru.
Meanwhile, delegations of All Parties Hurriyet Conference and
Democratic Freedom Party visited Afzal Guru’s ancestral residence at Doabgah, Sopore, to express solidarity with his family. They also participated in the prayer meetings held at his house.
Speaking on the occasion, the APHC leaders, who comprised the
delegation,said withholding Guru’s mortal remains was travesty of justice. “By doing so, India has not only exposed its judiciary, but has also put a question mark on its democratic credentials,” they said.
The Sikh organization Dal Khalsa in a statement in Amritsar said that
New Delhi secretly murdered Afzal Guru three years ago. Dal Khalsa said, it joins the people of Kashmir in paying tributes to Muhammad Afzal Guru on his death anniversary.
