Syed Ali Gilani denounces curbs, arrests in IOK

ISLAMABAD, Feb 10 (APP): The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet
Conference (G), Syed Ali Gilani has criticized the authorities for imposing restrictions in the territory on the third martyrdom anniversary of Kashmiri martyr, Muhammad Afzal Guru, who was unjustly hanged by India in Delhi’s Tihar jail.
According to KMS, Ali Gilani, who is in New Delhi for medical
check-up, in a statement condemned the detention of the pro-freedom leaders on the occasion.
“The shifting of dozens of pro-freedom leaders including Muhammad
Yasin Malik to Srinagar Central Jail, detention of more than 50 Tehreek-e-Hurriyet activists in different police stations, and police raids on the residences of Muhammad Yousuf Naqash and Meraj-ud-Din Kalwal are condemnable acts on part of the authorities,” he added.
He said, on one hand, India is committing genocide of Kashmiris, and
on the other, we are not allowed to mourn the death of our loved ones. “This is the worst kind of state terrorism, which the Kashmiris have been facing for the last 68 years. Jammu and Kashmir has been converted into a big jail,” he added.
The repressive policy of Indian government is increasing the political
uncertainty and instability in the territory, the octogenarian leader warned.
