Anti -India protests, strike continued in IOK

ISLAMABAD, (APP): Several people were injured after
Indian police used brute force and fired pellets and bullets on
protesters in Srinagar, Bandipore and Islamabad districts during
protest strike on 52 consecutive day, today in the territory.
Clashes between protesters and Indian police took place on
in Dalgate, Rainawari, Nawpora and Khaniyar areas of the Srinagar
while people staged protests after a 55-year old Muhammad Shafi
Butt was beaten up by the Indian army at Watpora in Bandipore, KMS
reported.
The personnel of Rashtriya Rifles are manning Bandipora-
Srinagar road. “I was on way to Manasbal and army stopped me at
least five places,” a commuter said.
On the other hand, hundreds of men, women and children
staged anti-India protests at Sangrama in Baramulla and Nowgam-
Shahabad in Islamabad against the arrest of youth. The protesters
while shouting pro-freedom and “Go India Go” slogans demanded
immediate release of the youth.
Meanwhile, Indian police detained Awami Ittihaad Party
leader, Engineer Rasheed ahead of his proposed anti- India protest
in front of Indian Army garrison at Badambagh in Srinagar.
On the other hand, shutdown continued for 52nd day, today,
across valley while curfew and restrictions remained in force in
some parts under the jurisdictions of police station Maharajganj
and Nowhatta in Srinagar.
