ISLAMABAD: (APP):An anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi on Monday declared former interior minister Rehman Malik’s testimony in Benazir Bhutto murder case as ‘unnecessary’,
During the proceedings today, the ATC issued summons to assistant director Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Shoaib Ahmed.
The hearing was adjourned till February 22.

On Feb 10, Rehman Malik had failed to appear in the court hearing. The court was informed that Malik was absent as he was attending the ongoing Senate session.
The court ordered the Pakistan People’s Party Senator to appear before the court today (Feb 15), but he still didn’t turn up.
Mr. Malik was the in-charge of Benazir Bhutto’s security when she was assassinated in December 2007 at Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi after addressing a mammoth rally.
The former interior minister is also one of the prime witnesses against ex-president Pervez Musharraf in the case.
According to the prosecution, Malik testified before the court that Musharraf told the former prime minister that her future was dependent on rapport with him. He claimed to have written several letters to Musharraf requesting him to provide appropriate security to Ms Bhutto but to no avail.
