PESHAWAR Sept.22 (APP): The engineers associated with the nation
building departments have formed a separate association named Khyber Pakthunkhwa Association of Graduate Engineers (KPAGE) and elected an interim cabinet under the chairmanship of Engr. Shakir Habib.
The interim cabinet would complete the membership drive in the coming
six months time and would hold formal elections.
Addressing the general body meeting of the newly formed body Engr.Shakir
Habib said that KPAGE has been formed to provide a united plate form to the engineers’ community for the protection of their genuine rights, enhancing their capacity building and stoppage of their exploitation by the public and private sector organizations.
However, he maintained that the association would avoid bringing the
engineers on roads for the acceptance of their demands through agitations and strikes.
The meeting through a unanimous resolution demanded of the KP Government
to provide time based service structure, professional allowance and internship for the fresh graduates. The heads of all the national development institutions should be taken from the engineer’s community and training courses on modern techniques should be arranged for the engineers, it added.
The condition of senior management course for promotion of engineers
should be withheld as it was contrary to their technical expertise, the resolution concluded.
Registration Committee under the chairmanship of Engr. Siddique Khattak
also formed on the occasion and directed to complete the process as early as possible.
