GILGIT, (MILLAT/APP): Census Coordinator Gilgit Baltistan, Muhammad
Shafiq Shah here on Tuesday said that first phase of the ongoing sixth national population and housing census was successfully completed in the five selected districts of Gilgit Baltistan.
He told APP that the census work in 361 blocks out of 720 blcoks have
been completed by the enumerators on March 27 in five selected districts including Gilgit, Ghazar, Nagar, Skardu and Ganjay.
He said work on the remaining 359 blocks would commence on March 31 that
would be completed by April 15.
The second phase of housing and population counting in the remaining
five districts including Hunza, Diameer, Astore, Shagaro and Karmang would commence on April 25, he explained.
He informed “I along with the senior staff have personally checked
enumeration work in the field by visiting different areas and expressed satisfaction on the work.”
He said the line department, district administration, police, teachers
and others officials were extending full support to the census staff for smooth, peaceful and transparent completion of the census.
