CHARSADDA, (APP): Former Federal Minister for Railways and
veteran politician, Nisar Muhammad Khan died of cardiac failure at his village Sheikhabad on Tuesday at the age of 85, family sources said.
His funeral prayers would be offered at Sheikhabad village, Charsadda at
6:00 PM today. The veteran leader would be buried in his ancestral graveyard. He was born in 1934.
A leading political figure of Charsadda, Nisar Muhammad Khan had served
in Junejo’s Cabinet (1985-88) as Railways and Tourism Minister. He also served as Federal Housing Minister during Pervaiz Musharraf regime besides member of the Senate of Pakistan in 1998 during Nawaz Sharif second tenure.
He was first elected as member of Provincial Assembly of West Pakistan
in 1965. He returned to the National Assembly during non party based election in 1985 during Zia’s regime.
Late Nisar started his political career from the platform of Pakistan
People’s Party and remained aide of Z.A.Bhutto from 1968-71. Afterwards, he joined Muslim League and remained associated with its different factions till 2011 when he parted ways with league and joined Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf.
He remained active officer bearer of various factions of Muslim League
and remained in closed circle of late Muhammad Khan Junejo, Prime Minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Hamid Nasir Chattha and Ejaz-ul-Haq
Following the footprints of Nisar Khan, his three sons including
Muhammad Naseer Khan serves as the first District Nazim, Charsdda, Saeed Muhammad Khan former MPA and Fazal Muhammad is current PTI organizer of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
