IOK authorities detain resistance leaders

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE):The puppet authorities in Indian occupied Kashmir have arrested the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chief, Muhammad Yasin Malik, and put the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, under house arrest. The APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani is already under house arrest for the past several years.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the detention of the leaders is aimed at preventing them from visiting the residence of a martyred youth, Mughees Ahmed Mir, and expressing solidarity with his family. Mughees was killed by the Indian troops during a siege and search operation in Zakura area of Srinagar, last night.
A spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front in a statement said that Yasin Malik was arrested from his residence, today, and lodged at Srinagar Central Jail.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, according to a spokesman of the Hurriyat forum, was placed under house detention late last night.
Meanwhile, the puppet authorities have imposed curfew-like restrictions and announced closure of schools and colleges in Srinagar to prevent demonstrations against the killing of Mughees. Classes at the Kashmir University, Srinagar, have been suspended. The authorities have also suspended train service in the territory.
