Lasting peace in region impossible sans resolution of Kashmir dispute: PM

LONDON,(MILLAT+APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz
Sharif on Friday said the achievement of lasting peace in the
region was impossible without the resolution of Jammu and
Kashmir dispute.
Talking to reporters here after his arrival from
New York, he rejected the Indian allegations
on Uri attack as “irresponsible” and “without any evidence.”
He said before accusing Pakistan, India should have
looked at its atrocious role in the Occupied Jammu and Kashmir
and mentioned the brutalities being perpetrated against the
innocent Kashmiris by the Indian forces in the Occupied
Kashmir.
The Prime Minister said the whole world knew about the
Indian atrocities in the Occupied Kashmir in which around 108
people had so far been killed, over 150 blinded and thousands
injured.
He said the Uri attack can be the reaction of these
atrocities, as the close relatives and near and dear ones of
those killed and blinded over the last two months were hurt
and outraged.
The Prime Minister wondered how India had hurled
accusations against Pakistan only hours after the Uri incident
without holding any inquiry or investigation.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, in response to a
question said, while addressing the UN General Assembly, he
had spoken on all important issues and presented his country’s
viewpoint before the world leaders.
“There was a specific time for the speech and whatever
was important was said,” he added.
To another question, the Prime Minister said the whole
world including the United States did not believe in the issue
of Balochistan raised by India.
To a question about the anger of PML-N workers over the
planned PTI rally in Raiwind, Nawaz Sharif said, the PML-N
workers have been directed not to create any hurdle, or come
in the way of PTI rally, and he believed the workers would
follow the party direction.
He, however, added that it was time for all the
political forces to stand united and work for the betterment
of country and nation.
To a question about the reports that India was
pressurizing the SAARC member countries not to attend the
regional summit scheduled to be held in Pakistan in November,
the Prime Minster said Pakistan was preparing for the summit
and he hoped all the member countries would attend the
summit.
Prime Minister Sharif, responding to another query, said
whenever Pakistan talked to India, we demanded
discussion on Jammu and Kashmir dispute, as the achievement of
lasting peace was impossible without the resolution of this
dispute.
To a question about the possibility of his meeting with
Co-Chairman PPP Asif Ali Zardari in London, Nawaz Sharif said,
exchange of views and consultation among the political parties
should continue.
He said, Asif Ali Zardari, the former president,
completed his tenure with respect, adding, “We did not make
any effort to destabilize their government, and we are also
taking them along.”
About the development work in Azad Kashmir, he said,
development of infrastructure and construction of new roads as
well as the rehabilitation of the existing ones was needed in
AJK, for which the federal government was providing funds.
The Prime Minister said the development budget of AJK
has been doubled and major projects in the areas of health-
care, education etc. were being launched to provide facilities
to the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
Nawaz Sharif said, he would visit AJK soon to discuss
with the AJK government and approve various development
project for Azad Kashmir.
About the impact of China Pakistan Economic Corridor
(CPEC) in Balochistan, he aaid, the province was the center of CPEC
projects. A network of roads was being laid in
Balochistan, besides, the development of Gwadar Port as well
as modern airport there and the construction of universities.
He said unprecedented development work was underway in
Balochistan, adding, Gwadar would be connected with Khunjrab
and Central Asian States.
Such a huge development work in Balochistan as well as
CPEC was not digestible for the anti-Pakistan elements,
the Prime Minister remarked.
