PAC recovers Rs 119 bln of public money

ISLAMABAD, (APP): The Public Accounts Committee (PAC)
has recovered Rs 119 billion from various government departments by
using its office and saved the precious public money.
Chairman PAC, Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, congratulating the
committee members, officials of Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP),
said that the committee has settled around 10,000 audit paras.
The PAC met here on Thursday with Leader of the Opposition in
National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah in the chair.
Members of the National Assembly Raja Javed Ikhlas, Shahida
Akhtar Ali, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Shafqat Mahmood, Rana Afzaal,
Pervaiz Malik, Sheikh Rohale Asghar, Syed Kazim Ali Shah and Mian
Abdul Mannan attended the meeting.
“Over 200 meetings of the committee so far have been held and
three reports are ready for presentation in the National Assembly,”
he informed the committee.
Khursheed Shah said that the PAC was the custodian of public
money and appreciated the efforts of the AGP and officials of the PAC.
