Rabbani distributes certificates among Senate internees

ISLAMABAD, (APP): Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani
distributed certificates among the first group of internees who
completed the short internship programme arranged by Senate.
The certificates were distributed, among 66 students who have
completed their six-months internship programme, in a ceremony held
here.
Addressing the participants, Mian Raza Rabbani said for the
first time in the history of the country, Senate had initiated such
internship programme which would help create a link between
Parliament and educational institutions.
He said agreements had been signed in this regard with eight
universities of the country according to which Senate would arrange
six-month internship programme for the students.
“Your input will be highly useful and of great value for us,”
the chairman Senate told the students, urging them to be ambassadors
of democracy.
He expressed hope that the experiences will prove highly
beneficial for future of the interns. He wished them success in
their careers.
Secretary Senate Amjed Pervez Malik while speaking to the
audience highlighted objectives of the programme.
He said aim of this programme was to learn from the new ideas
of the young generation and in turn give them an insight into the
working of parliament.
He said interns played a key role in increasing efficiency of
the secretariat by bringing into use new technology.
The ceremony was attended by senators and senior officers of
the Senate.
Interns termed it a good experience and appreciated the
cooperation extended to them by the Senate secretariat during their
training.
