PESHAWAR, Feb 6 (APP): While appreciating the high value role of
household women in the society, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister for Social Welfare and Irrigation, Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao paid rich tribute to the victim women of war on terror. He said that they are shouldering the whole load of society, their children and other heirs of the martyrs.
He said that those women needed a high profile recognition in society as
they are paying more than all for forward journey of the society.
He was addressing a seminar, held in connection with the international
day for women organized by commission for empowerment of women government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Asia Foundation here today.
The occasion was also graced by Speaker KP Assembly, Asad Qaiser, Deputy
Speaker, Dr. Mehar Taj Roghani, MPAs and women rights activists.
The Provincial Minister asked all the segments of society to pay full
attention for respecting and recognition of the role played by these brave women who were either mothers, daughters or sisters.
He also appealed the parents to keep stress on the women respect and
dignity, while educating their children as the same could provide best status to the women in society.
Referring to the newly established commission for the women empowerment
by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, the Provincial Minister called all the concerned quarters to help the government for improvement of the said commission and its implementation and suggestions in this regard will be appreciated.
He further said that the government and his party are interested to
established better atmosphere where the women folk could play their positive role for the improvement of our society.
Highlighting the importance of women folk in the up-worldness of the
society, Sikandar Hayat Khan also paid tribute to Malala Yousafzai, Maryam Mukhtair and Nigar Ahmad.
