Terror attacks to continue taking place for next eight to ten years: DG IB

ISLAMABAD: (APP): Director General of Intelligence Bureau Aftab Sultan said on Wednesday that terrorist attacks will continue to take place in Pakistan for the next eight to ten years.
DG IB, briefing a meeting on Wednesday, said that outlawed religious groups in the country have a“soft side” for Islamic State of Iraq and Syria
Sultan said that large number of people went to Syria from Pakistan. He added that a ISIS network was busted from the country.
“Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is working alongside Islamic State”, he said.
He added that Intelligence Bureau arrested the persons behind the murder of Jamiat Uleama-e-Islam – Fazl (JUI-F) leader Khalid Mahmud Soomro, killing of Justice Maqbool Baqir, Shikarpur imambargah explosion, slaying of SSP Chaudhry Aslam and the murder of Basheer Bilour.
Sultan added that several target killers arrested from Karachi belong to different political parties.
“581 terrorists were arrested from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) whereas 84 were killed”, he said.
