Vaccination of 4,915,194 animals completed

FAISALABAD, Sept 25 (APP): The Livestock Department has completed
vaccination of 4,915,194 animals to save them from ‘Gal Ghotu’
(Haemorrhagic Septicaemia) in four districts of the division.
Director Livestock Dr Muhammad Nawaz Malik said here Monday that
now the campaign against animals disease ‘Foot-and-Mouth’ (Aphthae Epizooticae) is being started for the safety of animals from possible attack of the disease in next phase.
He said that poultry birds are also being vaccinated against
‘Ranikhet’ disease after every two months.
He said that ‘Gall Ghotu’ was caused by dangerous bacteria,
especially in big animals including cows and buffalos.
He said that the symptoms of the disease were high fever,
swelling on neck and reduction of milk production etc.
He said that all field officers and staff have been strictly
directed to perform their duty honestly and make all the vaccination campaigns continued against epidemics successful.
