ISLAMABAD, (APP): Secretary Election Commission Azad Jammu and
Kashmir Mian Naeem Ullah expressed satisfaction over the casting of vote by the people of Kashmir peacefully in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir State Elections 2016 on Thursday.
Talking to PTV news, Secretary said they have seen much enthusiasm by
the people of Kashmir while they were casting their vote on the polling day in the AJK since morning.
The secretary also expressed his satisfaction over the security
arrangements as no major complaints have been received so far except for some petty complaints added that the Frontier constubulary , rangers from KPK and police force were cooperating with them for the peaceful polling in the state .
He said we hope the turn out would be enhanced as compared to 2011
elections which was 48 per cent.
Replying to a question , he assured that the code of conduct of the
process of polling was fully respected on the basis of identity card of the voters.
He said in order of ensuring peaceful conduct of free and fair
elections we have banned cell phones entry in the polling booths as per code ethics.
He added that we have allowed entry of a single candidate in polling
stations and prohibited gathering with the candidates at a time.
