TOKYO, (MILLAT+APP/AFP) – Tokyo stocks closed
higher Thursday with exporters buoyed by a sharp drop in the yen, following a record close on Wall Street.
Tokyo’s benchmark Nikkei 225 index added 0.94 percent, or 170.47
points, to close at 18,333.41, while the broader Topix index of all first-section issues gained 0.86 percent, or 12.46 points, to 1,459.96.
