CASA IMCs postpones strike after assurance from authorities

ISLAMABAD, (APP): Central Academic Staff Association
(CASA) Islamabad Model Colleges (IMCs) on Thursday postponed their
strike after getting assurance from the authorities in Capital
Administration and Development Division (CADD) of fulfilling their
demands.
Talking to APP, President CASA, M Rasheed Khan said Secretary
CADD has assured the members of CASA in a meeting held here to
fulfill their demands of Upgradation of scales, Monetization and
Revision of four-Tier formula.
Therefore, he said, CASA has postponed their strike till
indefinite period.
He said around 1200 teachers of Grade 16 and above of model
colleges are awaiting upgradation of their scales announced by the
government during the year 2011.
While their other demands of provision of conveyance allowance
to the officers of Grade 20-21 and revision of Four Tier promotion
formula are also yet to be fulfilled.
Rasheed Khan said the secretary assured that all their demands
will be resolved as per their satisfaction.
After a detailed discussion over all the demands and issuance
of specific directions to the officials, Secretary Mr. Hassan Iqbal
assured CASA his utter commitment with the cause of teaching
community.
He was of the view that CASA will be taken onboard in decision
making process relevant to the teachers of Islamabad Model Colleges.
The Secretary gave immediate directions to the Additional
Secretary Qaiser Majeed Malik and Joint Secretary, Tariq Moj for the
preparation of cases regarding Upgradation, Monetization and
Revision of 4-Tier formula by Monday.
He directed them to seek FDE’s action within a week over the
process of promotion cases, updation of seniority lists, proposal of
appointment of senior most associate professors for the seats of
retiring principals and complete ban on fresh appointment of daily
wage teachers.
