Law & order situation reviewed

LAHORE, July 25 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad
Shehbaz Sharif said we had to take effective steps
jointly to cope with the challenge of terrorism.
He added that plan evolved for eliminating terrorism
should be imlemented in letter and spirit.
He said this while presiding over a meeting of Provincial
Cabinet Committee on law and order here Tuesday in which
preliminary report regarding suicide attack at Kot Lakhpat
vegetable market was presented. The meeting reviewed
overall law and order situation in the province.
Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said the
tragic incident of terrorism occurred in Lahore the other
day in which brutal beasts targeted brave police officials and
innocent citizens. He said this terrible incident grieved
the whole country and every person moved to tears. He said
martyred police officials and citizens were heroes of the
nation and their sacrifices would not go waste.
Shehbaz Sharif said families of martyrs and their
children would be fully looked after.
He directed that more effective steps should be taken for
safeguarding the life and property of the people. He said
the entry and exit points of the province and cities should be
strictly monitored and added that action be taken against the
terrorists and their facilitators in an effective manner.
He said enemy was conspiring against the peace and we
had to foil its nefarious designs with the force of unity. He
said all out treatment should be provided to the injured.
He lauded the effort of provincial ministers, secretaries,
cabinet committee on law and order and the administration for
providing timely relief and best treatment facilities to the
injured.
Dua was offered for the departed souls of the martyrs of
the blast as well as early recovery of the injured during the
meeting.
Provincial Ministers Rana Sanaullah, Lt. Col. (r) Ayyub Gadhi,
Kh. Salman Rafiq, Kh. Imran Nazir, Chief Secretary, Additional
Chief Secretary Home, Inspector General Police, senior officials
and concerned officers of civil law enforcement agencies were
present on the occasion.
