Shipping activity at Port Qasim

     KARACHI, July 2 (APP): Shipping activity remained active at
the Port Qasim during last 24 hours, where five ships carrying
containers, chemicals, furnace oil and edible oil were allotted berths
at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal,
Engro Vopak Terminal, FOTCO Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal on
Sunday, July 1. 
     Berth occupancy was 65% at the Port on Tuesday where total number
of seven ships namely MV. Maersk Carolina, MV. Salta, BBC Kosan,
Harsanadi, Lady Mathide, MV. Akaki and Chem Road Mega are currently
occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, general cargo,
chemical, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24
hours.
     A cargo volume of 34619 tonnes comprising 24119 tonnes imports
and 10500 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in
616 containers (Boxes) were handle at the Port during last 24 hours.
