Shipping activity at Port Qasim

     KARACHI, July 6 (APP): Shipping activity remained active at the
Port during last 24 hours, where two ships carrying containers and
chemical were allotted berths at Qasim International Containers
Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminals on Thursday.
     Meanwhile two more ships scheduled to load/offload containers and
furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last
24 hours.
     Berth occupancy was 55% at the Port on Friday where total number
of six ships namely MSC Namibia, Belgica, MV. Salta, Cyrus-I, Siva
Mumbai and Golden Dynasty are currently occupying berths to
load/offload containers cement, bitumen, chemical and edible oil
respectively during last 24 hours.
     A cargo volume of 49043 tonnes comprising 35471 tonnes imports
and 13572 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in
1551 containers (Boxes) were handle at the Port  during last 24 hours.
