Govt allocates record funds for development projects: PM
ISLAMABAD, Sep 5 (APP): Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf Wednesday said the present coalition government has allocated record funds for development projects and released funds to all Parliamentarians without any discrimination. Speaking to Parliamentary Party meeting of the allies at Parliament House, the Prime Minister thanked the allies for their un-flinching support to Pakistan People's Party. The Prime Minister said that the present Parliament had been able to complete its tenure due to wise policies and strategy worked out by the leaders of all the coalition parties. The Prime Minister said that this Coalition Government has set an example by demonstrating that political forces can join hands for the welfare and betterment of the people. The Prime Minister said that the policy of reconciliation according to the vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto has been the guiding political philosophy of his government. He said that the government with the support of its Allies expects that important legislation business would be passed smoothly by both the houses as it had been the case for past four and half years. The Prime Minister urged the allies to participate in debates in the parliament and fulfill their responsibilities by contributing in legislative business. The Prime Minister said that he is fully aware of individual as well as collective issues that beset the parliamentarians and assured them that government is alive to them and would try to minimize their problems. The Prime Minister said that government has performed well despite inheriting bad law and order situation, violence and terrorism. He alluded to the passage of constitutional amendments by the Parliament during last four and half years and termed it a land mark achievement. Babar Ghauri, Minister for Ports and Shipping, Engineer Shaukat Ullah, Minister for SAFRON, Senator Muzafar Ali Shah, Anwar Ali Cheema and Ms. Jameela Gilani speaking on behalf of MQM, FATA, PML(F), PML(Q) and ANP respectively ensured the Prime Minister of full support of their parties both inside and outside the parliament.
