Rehman directs early arrest of rapists

      ISLAMABAD, Sept 11 (APP)  :Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik
on Tuesday took strong notice of a rape incident in Marriott Hotel
Islamabad and directed immediate arrest of Assistant Director
Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and businessman allegedly
involved in the crime.
      The Minister directed Director General FIA to immediately
suspend the accused assistant director and initiate a departmental
inquiry against him.
      Inspector General of Police Islamabad was also directed to
thoroughly probe the incident and those involved in the crime should
be taken to task as per law of the land. In this regard, he said a
report should be sent to his office.
      Directing DG FIA for conducting a separate inquiry into the
incident, he said higher police official should visit victim's
family to assure them of all justice.
      Rehman Malik asked the Secretary Interior to ensure
presentation of challan in the court within the required period so
that the responsibles of the crime could be prosecuted and affected
family be given justice.
