SC directs Balochistan Govt to submit reply about prosecution
of arrested FC officials
ISLAMABAD, March 7 (APP): The Supreme Court on Friday directed
Government of Balochistan to submit reply, with explanation about
prosecution of arrested Frontier Corps (FC) officials, in civil
court or trial in a military court.
The two-member bench of Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice
Ather Saeed resumed the hearing of the case regarding Balochistan
law and order situation and graves found in Khuzdar.
During the course of proceedings, the court was informed that
Shahid Hamid counsel for the Balochistan government, could not
appear before the court due to illness.
Additional Attorney General Shah Khawar informed the court
that the cases were registered against the FC officials and army
has formally contacted Balochistan Government to trial FC officials
under Army Act but the provincial government has not yet responded.
Chairman Voice of Baloch Missing Person Nasar Ullah Baloch
submitted another list of six persons who went missing and demanded
that these names should also be included in missing persons list.
The Court directed to include the list, provided by Nasar Ullah
Baloch, in court record and also directed him to contact Balochistan
High Court's Commission for the correct number of bodies found in
grave from Khuzdar.
The court also directed Home Secretary Balochistan to provide
security to Nasar Ullah Baloch.
Director General CID Imtiaz Shah informed the court that FC
officials were not produced before CID and no legal proceedings
were not initiated against them.
The court directed Irfan Qadir, lawyer for FC, to have a meeting
with Shahid Hamid, counsel for Balochistan Government and apprised
the court about progress.
Later, the court adjourned hearing of the case for two weeks.
