Peace, stability in Afghanistan, core national goal
for Pakistan: FM

    TOKYO, July 8 (APP): Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani
Sunday said peace and stability in Afghanistan is a core
national goal for Pakistan.
    Speaking at the Tokyo Conference on Afghanistan, she
said peace and stability in Afghanistan is contingent upon
commitment by regional countries for not using Afghanistan's
soil to destabilize its neighbours.
    The Foreign Minister announced that Pakistan would
award one thousand scholarships for Afghan students.
    She offered capacity-building programme for Afghanistan
in areas of banking, finance, telecommunications and several
other fields.
    She said Pakistan will also undertake construction of 25
basic health units (BHUs) and 25 schools in Afghanistan.
