Comprehensive security plan finalised to avoid any untoward incident during long march: Malik
ISLAMABAD, July 8, (APP): Senior Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior A Rehman Malik Sunday said that comprehensive security plan has been finalised to avoid any untoward incident on Monday during the long march of the Defa-e-Pakistan Council. Talking to media persons, he said four helicopters and 50 security cameras would keep a close eye on the participants of the long march in Islamabad. The contingents of police, Rangers and Frontier Constabulary would provide complete security cover to the participants of the long march. Two helicopters have been placed at the disposal of Rawalpindi Police. As per agreement Faizabad would be the entry point for protestors, including those from Murree and adjacent areas, he said. He has urged the participants of long march to honour the commitments and adhere to the routes already agreed. Dafa-e-Pakistan Council has also been requested to ensure that neither weapons nor sticks would be carried by the participants of the procession. The government would provide complete security cover to the participants of the long march, he said. Clean drinking water, toilet facility would be provided to the participants of the long march. However the workers of proscribed organisations would not be allowed. They should also not challenge the writ of the government, he added. He has urged the people to keep their Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) with them, while entering the capital from 4 pm to 8 pm on Monday. Shopkeepers have also agreed to close their shops at 4 pm. The government has allocated a special corner for protestors in F-9 Park. Prime Minister will soon inaugurate the corner, where a media point has also been established near the corner. The participants of long march can stay in F-9 Park, he said. Replying to a question he said he has surrendered his British nationality. He said he was writing a book in which he would expose many things. He has urged the media to play positive role in keeping the atmosphere cool. He said Sharif brothers should face their inquiries in the $32 million money laundering case. The Sharifs should confess their crimes. They should struck a deal with National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to avoid disqualification. Regarding terror activities in Karachi, Quetta he said Punjab Government should control Jhang as almost all the terrorists organisations belong to Jhang. All and sundry should join hands to make the country prosperous, he said and added, the successful reconciliation policy of President Asif Ali Zardari should continue during the next five years.
