20 die as rains wreak havoc across country

ISLAMABAD, Sept 9 (APP): At least twenty people have died in
rain-related incidents that included electrocution, house roof collapses and traffic mishaps across the country, a private news channel reported.
Rains wreaked havoc in most parts of Sindh, by interrupting power supply, choking the sewage system, submerging the residential areas under rain water, damaging life and property.
In Punjab, the roofs of several houses collapsed injuring several
persons. Faisalabad, Jhang, Multan, Lodhran, Boraywala and other areas are
still receiving rain.
Two persons were killed, as roof of a house at Nishatabad collapsed. In Rahimyar Khan, a mother and her five children were injured due to the roof of a house collapsed in Nawankot, while at Lodhran two children were wounded.
Multan also revived heavy showers as water accumulated in several
areas of the city.
Trains have been delayed for hours due to the rains, while the night
coach service was cancelled, leaving passengers stranded platforms.
The power supply system was disrupted at Kandhkot and surrounding areas, as 12 grid stations tripped due to torrential rains.
Ghotki, Obaro, Dharki, Mirpur Mathelo, Khanpur and Mehar were also lashed by heavy rains with lightening for more than five hours submerging roads and streets under knee deep water.
