Zilhaj moon to be sighted on 17th, Eid on 27th
   LAHORE, Oct 16 (APP): The new moon will be sighted on
October 17 and the Islamic month of Zilhaj starts from October 18 and Eid-ul-Azha would be observed on October 27.
   The Secretary General of Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council, Khalid
Ejaz, told APP that the new moon was born on Monday, October 15, at 17:02 PST and its age at the time of sunset on the evening of 17th October would be more than 48 hours in all  parts of Pakistan. On the other hand, Lag Time (difference between sunset and moonset) will be more than 75 minutes in
all parts of the country. So the moon will be
easily visible in most areas of Pakistan on the evening of
Wednesday, October 17.
   New moon cannot be sighted until and unless its age is minimum 20 hours
at the time of sunset at the place of observation whereas the difference between sunset and moonset  (Lag Time) is more than 40 minutes, said Khalid Ejaz Mufti.
